Associate director makes list of top 50 sustainability stars in UK

Niall Robertson, from Jones Lang LaSalle’s Glasgow office, has been named one of the UK’s top sustainability stars.

Robertson, who is part of the Buildings and Construction team, has been listed as one of 50 up and coming talents in the green sector by Building Magazine.

Finalist in Outstanding Woman in Construction Award

Sue Ballard, Materials Innovation Manager at Jablite Insulation is a finalist for the Outstanding Woman in Construction Award. The Women in Construction Awards provide a showcase for the brightest and the best female achievers in the construction industry.

“We decided to nominate Sue because her abilities and knowledge are outstanding,” explains Richard Lee, Managing Director of Jablite Insulation.

Paul Hetherington named new CEO of Marshall-Tufflex

Marshall-Tufflex Managing Director Jim Fletcher has announced his retirement after almost 30 years at the Hastings-based manufacturer.

His replacement is Paul Hetherington, formerly Managing Director of Alumasc Rainwater, Drainage, Casings & Plastics Division. Paul took up the post of Chief Executive Officer on February 3, working alongside Jim until his retirement in May.

The donation of a new kit will keep a North Tyneside based sports academy fighting fit for the future.

Construction specialist Galliford Try Partnerships North has weighed in with the new vests and tracksuits for Howdon Boxing Academy – which offers boxing, martial arts, Thai boxing and fitness training for young people from the age of 10 upwards.

Multi-disciplinary construction consultancy, Edmond Shipway, is delighted to announce that Jamie Crouch has been appointed a Director of the practice.

Over the past four years, Jamie has been working as the Project Director for the consultancy as they project manage the delivery of the £250 million Center Parcs Woburn Forest resort. Under Jamie’s guidance, the team are on course to successfully deliver the complex scheme on time and on budget with its opening scheduled for spring 2014.

In a smooth move from Movember to December, a fund-razing ‘tache’ force from Linden has raised £2,000 for cancer charity coffers.

The smooth operating team of company directors, senior managers and employees signed up for the popular charity stunt at the start of last month, joining the growing Mo Bros movement raising money for research into prostate cancer.

TPS appoints Peter Hurry as Head of Security and M&E Services

Engineering and construction specialist TPS, has appointed security and blast engineering expert Peter Hurry as head of its security and explosion effects division. 

Formerly of Buro Happold and Kroll Associates, Peter Hurry has an MSc in Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management and is a Fellow of the Security Institute.

WYG’s Chief Executive wins prestigious award

WYG Chief Executive Officer, Paul Hamer is celebrating after picking up the Association for Consultancy and Engineering’s Sterling Award on Wednesday night (13 November) at ACE’s European CEO of the Year Awards at The Dorchester in London.

The award was presented by Huw Edwards, BAFTA award winner, and Sir John Armitt, former Head of ODA and formed part of the ACE Centenary Gala Dinner, celebrating 100 years of consultancy and engineering excellence.
