Linden Homes smooth operators boost cancer charity coffers by £2,000

In a smooth move from Movember to December, a fund-razing ‘tache’ force from Linden has raised £2,000 for cancer charity coffers.

The smooth operating team of company directors, senior managers and employees signed up for the popular charity stunt at the start of last month, joining the growing Mo Bros movement raising money for research into prostate cancer.

Their total raised so far comes from individual and team sponsorship by friends, family and colleagues at the company’s Peterborough-based head office.

The idea to ditch the razors for the month of November  - for the second consecutive year - came from Chris Harris, who heads up the commercial department.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK. Over 40,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer ever year and 250,000 men are currently living with the disease.

Chris – captain of the Legends of the Tache - said: “It’s a great cause and a bit of fun too. This is the kind of fundraising event that gets people talking and hopefully donating to the cause and we are delighted to say that we’ve raised over £1,900.

“We wanted to beat our 2012 total of £600, so a massive thank you from the now moustache free team to everyone who has supported us.”
