College leads the way in EPAs

The end-point assessment (EPA) agenda for civil engineering trade apprenticeships is being spearheaded by Bridgwater & Taunton College (BTC) – which is the first in the country to complete EPAs in Formwork and in Steel Fixing.
The EPA is paramount to the achievement of an apprenticeship. It tests the knowledge, skills and behaviours that an apprentice has gained during their training. Unique to each apprenticeship standard, the EPA demonstrates the competence of an apprentice in their role – which is crucial for current and future employers.

CHAS to tackle modern slavery in construction supply chains

CHAS, the supply chain risk management expert, has partnered with the University of Nottingham Rights Lab to undertake a research project around the risk of modern slavery within construction supply chains, with a focus on small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs).
The project, which will begin in April 2021, will assess the risk of modern slavery in construction supply chains and seek to establish how construction businesses can effectively tackle the issue.
