ASFP team expands to support growth and develop influence

The Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) has expanded its team as part of a structural reorganisation which aims to provide improved member, technical and training services, while further raising the profile of the Association throughout the construction supply chain. The Association has enlarged its technical and marketing teams in order to support and augment its rapid growth and further develop the services it offers.

Ex-CEO Niall Rowan will provide additional technical support as the ASFP’s new Regulatory and Technical Officer. Rainclear launches new door canopies range

Rainclear Systems, the UK’s leading stockist and online retailer of metal rainwater systems has added a brand-new range of door canopies, and side panels, to its website.

“These canopies are produced to the highest specifications using high-quality aluminium and stainless steel and environmentally friendly colours for the powder coating process. We’ve chosen to stock the ever-popular RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey, but other RAL colours are available, predicably with a surcharge and a longer delivery time of approx. 4- 6weeks. But if you’re trying to build or develop something really unique, this may well be the right option for you”

Anthony Hitchman - MD at Rainclear Systems.

Engineering solution brings waterfront back to life

Will Rudd Davidson (Edinburgh), consulting engineers, have completed complex engineering works at Dumbarton Harbour, to provide waterfront access for the first time in 150 years.  The site at the old quay on the River Leven has been brought back to life and will provide new homes for local residents to enjoy the views of the river and beyond.

The engineering team’s work on the quayside site of the former Ballantine Whisky Distillery involved significant and complex challenges, including removing old foundations and slipways from the site’s original use in the 18th and 19th centuries as a shipyard.  Upgrades to the quay walls and dry dock revetments were also undertaken.
