Direct Corporate Clothing (DCC) has posted a 22 per cent increase in turnover following a number of high profile contract wins.
Birmingham-based DCC is one of the UK’s largest providers of workwear, corporate wear and personal protective equipment (PPE) with customers including Miller Homes and Travis Perkins.
Green Roof makes a splash in Cannon Hill

A residential property in London which recently added an extension to house a swimming pool and changing rooms has made its roof space more appealing by creating a lavender and mixed herb green roof.
The project at Cannon Hill was designed and installed by Wild About Roofs, who specialise in supplying and installing an innovative range of herb and wildflower roofs. They commissioned Boningale GreenSky to provide a variety of lavender, rosemary and thyme plants for the new pool house’s flat roof. Unlike many commercial wildflower roofs, these larger plants were supplied as small pots to provide instant impact for a highly visible site.

Renewable heating expert Finn Geotherm, has completed an air source heat pump installation for military charity Walking With The Wounded to deliver heating and hot water for a former Royal Engineers officer in Suffolk.
Eric Hamilton, an ex-Royal Engineer soldier, is suffering from mesothelioma, contracted from aggregate blue asbestosis in Cyprus in 1976. Eric lives in a bungalow in Red Lodge with his daughter and full-time carer, Suzanne Wright, who is also a former servicewoman. His condition requires him to be kept warm all year around, which was proving difficult and expensive as the bungalow's oil boiler was coming to the end of its life.

Flowcrete UK wins FeRFA award for high-end cattery project

Flowcrete UK took home a coveted prize at the FeRFA Best Practise Awards 2016, winning the Highly Commended Small Industrial Project category in partnership with Resin Coating Specialists.
The award, presented during a glittering ceremony held in the Woodlands Suite of the Belfry Hotel, was in recognition of a flooring project at Larton Livery, located in Frankby on the Wirral peninsula, which was building a new, high-end cattery.
Larton Livery’s owners knew that they needed a high performance flooring solution in order to maintain a clean and attractive appearance despite the multiple hygiene difficulties inherent to a cattery facility. UK SMEs find start-up process challenging

Fewer than four out of every 10 (38%) UK business owners feel that the UK actively fosters and encourages an entrepreneurial environment, according to the Close Brothers Business Barometer, a quarterly survey of over 900 UK SME owners and senior management across a range of sectors and regions.
When asked the question ‘do you feel the UK encourages entrepreneurs?’, 38% said ‘yes’; 42% answered ‘no’ and 20% were undecided.
“Business owners are telling us that more needs to be done to help encourage entrepreneurship in the UK,” said Neil Davies, CEO, Close Brothers Asset Finance (pictured). “This is despite the UK ranking near the top in a number of global polls that measure entrepreneurism.
