SchlegelGiesse expands by acquiring Reguitti

SchlegelGiesse, the International Division of London quoted Tyman plc, has acquired Reguitti, the Italian-based manufacturer of handles and assorted accessories for doors and windows, along with its sister brands Tropex Design and Jatec.
This strategic acquisition, which is immediately effective, extends the SchlegelGiesse portfolio of high-quality hardware solutions to timber, aluminium and PVC internal and external doors and windows.

A visual campaign, image led and run on the competition platform for a period of three weeks.
Submissions entries open on 3 Sept and will be closing on 23 Sept with the winners announced at the awards ceremony at the UK Construction Week exhibition on 9 October 2018.
Bull protects £3 billion development in London

Bull Products, a manufacturer of life-saving fire protection equipment, is putting workers’ health and safety front of mind, with the installation of its fire alarm systems during a £3bn London development.
Bull has supplied its Cygnus alarm systems to phases 1 and 2 of the Chelsea Barracks project, which will protect site workers during the development of more than 70 apartments and 15 townhouses worth £2 million to £50 million.
Once complete, Chelsea Barracks will take its place amongst the world’s most prestigious real estate developments. It will be spread over 13 acres of residential land and will comprise of apartments, penthouses and a range of amenities including restaurants and retail outlets.
Local employees reach mountain summit for charity

Five courageous employees from Mick George Ltd have returned from successfully completing the famous ‘Three Peaks Challenge’ this weekend, to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
With weeks of training beforehand, Ben Collett, Chris Gunkel, Garry Woodcock, Lee Cox, Anthony McCann and Joe Gossage embraced the ultimate challenge, in the hope to raise as much money as possible for one of Mick George Ltds chosen Charities of the year for 2017/18.
The challenge started off in Scotland, where the team climbed to the summit of Ben Nevis; the largest peak in the UK, before heading down and travelling to Scafell Pike for phase two in the Lake District. The final obstacle awaited the team in Wales, where they conquered Snowdon, all within 24 hours, and partly under the cover of darkness!

Chartered Institute of Building launches open online sustainability course

The Chartered Institute of Building Academy is launching a new massive open online course (MOOC) on sustainable development. This follows the success of the first ever construction-focused MOOC which the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) ran last year, attracting more than 3000 construction professionals in over 100 countries.
The five-week interactive course, which opens next month, has been developed in partnership with London South Bank University, UK. The course is free and open to anyone working in the built environment sector globally. It has been designed specifically for those working in the industry, and anyone working in or studying construction and the wider built environment will find it useful as it focuses on what is arguably one of the most important issues facing construction today – sustainability within construction and development.
