Mick George boost output with new washing plant

Mick George Ltd have boosted sand and gravel production to a rate of 300 tonnes/h at their Bridge Farm site, in Cambridgeshire, following the introduction of a new high-performance washing plant.

Specified and supplied by Mick George’s long-standing partners Aggregate Processing Solutions (APS), the bespoke system is being used to supply materials for the major A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon road upgrade.

APS – part of the Finlay Group of companies – have worked closely with Mick George for more than 30 years and the relationship, which has seen approximately £20 million of equipment specified, has supported the continued growth of the business.

Firm continues rapid expansion with new East Midlands relationship manager

Financial services broker, Midlands Asset Finance (MAF), has bolstered its presence in East Midlands by appointing a new relationship manager for the region.

Based in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire where she was born and still lives, Rachel Borlace has joined the business to support SME and corporate clients in Nottinghamshire with any asset finance, invoice finance or property funding.

New charity to transform cancer support in the built environment sector

Building industry leaders have come together to launch a new charity aiming to transform cancer advice and support for people working in the Construction and Built Environment sector as well as raising money to help fund research to beat cancer sooner.

Andy von Bradsky, Anthony Burd, Emma Clancy, Paul Everall, Richard Harral and John Tebbit have been working since the end of 2017 to launch We Build the Future.

NCC is awarded the Mayor of London's Construction Academy's quality mark

Further to a challenging application and assessment process, New City College has been announced as one of the providers to hold the new MCA quality mark, which identifies and recognises high-quality construction skills training provision in London.

The Mayor's Construction Academy (MCA) is an important element of the Skills for Londoners Strategy 2018, which has now been published.
