BALI reaches membership milestone with 800th member

The British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) is today celebrating welcoming its 800th member –Wakefield-based landscape contractor Freshscaped Ltd. This is a major milestone for the UK’s largest trade association for landscapers, grounds maintenance contractors, garden designers and affiliated industry product and service suppliers, and confirms its place as the representative voice of the landscape industry.

Renewables had a great year, according to NAPIT

In January last year, NAPIT predicted that 2014 would be the year of renewables and, with many positive predictions being made over the last 12 months, it seems this forecast was indeed accurate.
In November, a report stated that worldwide solar PV capacity could treble by 2020. This came at a time where the Solar Trade Association (STA) predicted that solar will become cheaper than gas by 2018. The positivity in the solar industry was evident throughout 2014 and solar PV installers can look forward to an even brighter year in 2015.
University signs agreement with international construction group

An agreement has been signed by Nottingham Trent University and Mace, the international consultancy and construction company, to explore ways of working together.
With a shared interest in Building Information Modelling (BIM) the two organisations have signed a memorandum of understanding which will see them explore ways to collaborate on research, shared lectures, placements and more.
