Ecobuild 2017 – regeneration is the name of the game

Ecobuild returns in March (7-9) with an overarching theme of regeneration, which will be brought to life through an immersive exhibition and conference programme that will redefine sustainability, identify future growth sectors and tackle the housing crisis. 

The leading show for built environment professionals, Ecobuild 2017 will see ExCeL London transformed into a ‘city’ – complete with a main street, distinct destinations and special feature attractions. Central to the experience will be Regeneration Drive, a boulevard running through the centre of the exhibition floor, linking different aspects of the show and enabling visitors to experience the very best examples of innovation and creativity from across the built environment.

New CISRS Scaffolding Training Centres open in Oman

Safety & Access would like to announce the opening today of two new CISRS registered training facilities in Oman. The new centres situated in Nizwa and Muscat represent a very important strategic base providing support to the major oil related industries in Oman.

The new centres are opened in partnership with Oman based industrial service provider Technical Training Institute (TTI) and Training Specialist provider Knowledge Grid (KG) and offer CISRS scaffold related training including scaffolder skills, scaffold inspection and scaffolding supervisor.

Lavendon Group appoints Wayne Smith as MD of Nationwide Platforms

Lavendon Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Wayne Smith as Managing Director of its UK subsidiary, Nationwide Platforms. He replaces current Managing Director, Jeremy Fish, who leaves the organisation at the end of February.

Mr Smith joined the Group in May 2016 from Aggreko undertaking the role of Corporate Strategy Director. Prior to Aggreko he undertook several Executive level roles with LaFarge in China, South East Asia and North America.

York Handmade plays pivotal role in Westgate Centre redevelopment

The award-winning York Handmade Brick Company has played an important role in the radical redevelopment of the Westgate Centre in Oxford.

York Handmade, based at Alne, near Easingwold, supplied 115,000 bricks for the exterior of the flagship John Lewis store, one of the anchor tenants of the new-look Westgate Centre.
