NASC and Simian answer former soldier’s appeal

The NASC and Simian have joined forces to help a former soldier take the next step in his career in the scaffolding industry.
The organisations teamed up after scaffolder Liam Gibbons reached out for assistance via the NASC’s Facebook account.
He wrote: “I read with interest that the NASC is keen to encourage more ex-Forces personnel to take up positions in the scaffolding industry and had launched a fund to help them with training. Just wondered if there was anything you could do for me.
£21m Deer Park School project imminent

A £21m construction project of a new secondary school at Uplands Farm, Botley is set to get underway, with the Mick George Group contracted to complete Bulk Excavation and Soil Stabilisation works on behalf of Kier.
The site which is situated west of Woodhouse Lane, Hedge End will be recognised as Deer Park School and will initially accommodate 120 Year 7 pupils, rising to 1,050 at full capacity.
Broker firm launches national healthcare finance division

Financial services broker, Midlands Asset Finance (MAF), has announced the appointment of four directors for the creation of its new national healthcare finance division.
Heading the division up will be the newly appointed Director & Head of Healthcare Finance, Mike Gascoigne, who previously spent ten years as a leading member of the corporate healthcare team at Santander, and his team will consist of Wesley Hodelin, Mindy Kaur-Smith and Shital Koria.

The 2019 FASET AGM and Awards event is to be held at a brand new venue at the stunning Tewkesbury Park in the Cotswolds on Thursday 28th November.
FASET are proud to be supporting the No Falls Foundation – the charity dedicated to preventing falls from height and helping people affected by the consequences of a fall. ASFP response to the Grenfell Tower Public Inquiry Report

The Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) welcomes the release of the report following the first phase of the Public Inquiry into the Grenfell Tower fire and will comment further once the findings have been examined in greater depth.
It is well documented and understood that the major failing of the building was due to the cladding material, and the ASFP looks forward to phase 2 of the Public Inquiry when the circumstances that led to its inclusion in the building will be determined.
