Leading marine construction and consultancy organisation, Red7Marine, was recently contracted by Jackson Civil Engineering to respond to a flood incident as part of their Collaborative Delivery Framework with the Environment Agency and its Emergency Flood Response arrangements across Lincolnshire.

Coronavirus: furloughed workers and what it means for business

The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme is designed to help businesses that would otherwise be forced to lay off staff in the face of the unprecedented disruption caused by COVID-19, writes Tina Chander of Wright Hassall.

All businesses with a PAYE scheme in place on 28 February 2020, regardless of size or sector, will be able to benefit from the scheme with the government reimbursing employers up to 80% of their employees’ wages, to a maximum of £2,500 per month, plus employer’s NICs and auto-enrolment pension contributions.

Constructionarium donate vital PPE equipment to NHS

Constructionarium Ltd were pleased to be able to donate PPE from their site in Bircham Newton to The Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital King’s Lynn. Site Manager, Joe Chandler was able to safely deliver the equipment, including gloves, masks, eye protection and protective suits to the QEH this week.

ASFP launches Professional Indemnity Insurance Cover Scheme

The Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) has partnered with an insurance broker to offer a new Professional Indemnity Insurance Cover Scheme for existing and prospective ASFP members.

The move is in response to reports from specialist fire protection sub-contractors that they are finding it increasingly difficult to obtain cover, with many facing significant premium increases or in some cases being refused cover.

Mick George Group land DIO package

Having been awarded a £17m contract for the Bassingbourn Barracks redevelopment, Kier Graham Defence Ltd have appointed the Mick George Group to complete Demolition and Asbestos removal works, imminently. 

This project, on behalf of the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) will see the relocation of the British Army’s Mission Training and Mobilisation Centre (MTMC) and will entail the refurbishment of accommodation blocks, social facilities, offices, classrooms, training areas, medical and dental facilities.

Aarsleff Ground Engineering Segment expands its operations in Norway

Aarsleff Ground Engineering segment hereby announce the opening of Aarsleff Norge AS; their newest ground engineering business based in Norway to be able to service the needs and requirements of their clients across the North-western Europe market. This marks the organisation’s seventh hub, with existing teams working from offices in Denmark, Poland, Sweden, Czech Republic, Germany and the UK. 

Aarsleff are by no means a new entrant to the country, having commenced their latest Norwegian contract with client Bane NOR, the government agency responsible for owning, maintaining, operating and developing the Norwegian railway network. Aarsleff have been subcontracted to perform the piling works for the Minnevika railway bridge – the longest railway bridge in Norway to date. This will require installing 280No. driven steel piles, with length up to 60m, and the construction of 17 cofferdams utilising 19m long sheet piles.
