Considerate Constructors Scheme launches new Monitoring Checklist

The Considerate Constructors Scheme - the national Scheme to improve the image of the construction industry - has launched a new Monitors’ Checklist.

The Checklist is the key method which Scheme Monitors use to assess and score sites, companies and suppliers’ performance against the Code of Considerate Practice. It comes into effect from 1 February 2016, but there will be a three month transition period until 1 May 2016, to ensure all Scheme registered members have sufficient time to familiarise themselves with the new requirements before any changes affect their scores.

The NASC has launched a new website – www.nasc.org.uk – offering a radical new look, modern desktop and mobile optimised functionality, user-friendly online shop, integrated social media and news feeds, and a plethora of scaffolding and access information.

CISRS Supervisors & Managers refresher course goes live

From the 1st March 2016 anyone wishing to renew their CISRS Scaffolding Supervisor/Manager card will be required to complete the newly developed refresher/CPD course.

The course has been developed for CISRS by Rick Statham Managing Director of Safety and Access Ltd. Following the recent successful completion of a Pilot course which was attended by scaffolding Supervisors from IBN Scaffold Access Ltd (Barnsley), High Peak Scaffolding Ltd (Buxton), CISRS Lead Instructors Tony Barry (NCC Midlands), Stuart Hemmings (WATA), Rob Nichols (Safety and Access) plus CISRS Scheme Manager Dave Mosley, all of whom are due to renew their CISRS Supervisor/Managers cards in 2016.

New affordable fire alarms for construction sites

This month sees the launch of two new site fire alarms from Bull Products, the specialists in safety and security for construction sites.

The Bull Site Siren systems are designed as stand-alone temporary fire alarms on construction sites.  These affordable alarms are fully self-contained and can be used separately as a stand-alone device, linked by cable or linked with a radio connection.
