City & Guilds accreditation for CAI courses

Another milestone in CAI history was recorded at the end of January when a visit from City & Guilds to Communications House, the CAI’s Watford HQ, led to confirmation that a major percentage of the CAI’s Education and Skills programmes would be carrying the City & Guilds logo on certificates issued by the CAI.

A global leader in skills development, the City & Guilds Group connects skills and jobs so people and organisations can progress. Made up of City & Guilds, ILM and City & Guilds Kineo, they work with education providers, businesses and governments in over 80 countries, to provide work-relevant education and training.

The CAI’s Office Manager and Education & Skills Co-ordinator, Amanda Ward alongside Senior Executive, Tim Jenks had been piecing together all the necessary criteria that applies towards being accredited by one of the best know qualification brands in the UK.  The main demanding requirements by City & Guilds were providing assessment and administration systems within a specified, tested framework.

The CAI’s team dedicated to providing bespoke training for our industry proved itself to be robust enough to come under close scrutiny.  With some fine tuning, an approval application that documented the CAI training managed system, passed all the required verification and the CAI has signed a contract with City & Guilds for the use of their accredited logo on the following courses;

Basic Aerial & Basic Satellite, Making the Bond, An Introduction to IRS, Basic Home Networking & Connectivity, Fibre Optics in Signal Distribution, Installation of Motorised Satellite Systems, Astra Connect, Tooway and SMATV & IRS Networks Design & Build.

Senior Executive, Tim Jenks commented;

‘This is a major step forward in the future of the CAI.  As the industry leader providing the educational backbone for the signal reception and distribution industry, the courses offered by the UK’s trade body are now given the recognition they deserve’.
