Gas courses are available from OLCI

altAs the UK’s No.1 Construction Training Provider, we offer training that leads to industry recognised qualifications.  If you are looking to become an engineer then our training will prepare you for registering with Gas Safe.  Once registered, you will then be able to work with gas in the UK and Isle of Man.  We have received feedback from some of our learners who are currently taking their training with OLCI.  Their comments may give you a useful insight so you can decide whether OLCI gas courses are right for you too.

Michael Lindsay took the ‘Become a Gas Engineer’ programme with OLCI.  Michael explained he wanted to get qualified in the trades because ‘after serving in the Royal Marines for 22 years, I chose the gas engineering course as my new career path.  I find it interesting and challenging, and I’m very enthusiastic about working with domestic gas appliances.’  He chose to train with OLCI ‘because this is a new state-of-the-art training establishment, with a very good record for training people to the required standard with a good reputation for success’.

Of his training, Michael says it’s ‘easy to understand, good explanations on how appliances work…’  This is because the ‘instructor makes it easy to understand, easily explained…and is very passionate about gas engineering work’.  Michael feels that the OLCI tutors are ‘extremely knowledgeable, patient, cheerful, enthusiastic and understanding’.  Michael explained that he finds the practical training ‘extremely informative, easy to understand, taught at the right pace, teaching me new skills’.  This is because ‘the instructor is very passionate about his work and very helpful’.  Michael agrees that he ‘would recommend OLCI to a friend’ and that he has ‘gained valuable skills during my OLCI training’.  When he has successfully completed his course, he would like to ‘work within the industry for a few years, eventually starting my own business’.

Wayne Ramshaw took the same course as Michael.  At the time of enrolling, Wayne was a foundry worker.  He wanted to get qualified in the trades so that he can ‘start my own business’.  The best part of his training is the ‘new experience and the chance of working with gas’.  This is because ‘I am a very manual worker who likes to work on new installations as well as used ones’.  Wayne says that the practical training is ‘great, able to work on gas in a controlled environment’.  Wayne agrees that ‘training for industry recognised qualifications has been helpful’.
