Forterra employees awarded for outstanding achievements

Forterra Ed Storer receiving the Keith FR Morton award 002On 19th December leading building products manufacturer Forterra saw two of its employees receive prestigious awards during an event hosted by the International Clay Technology Association (ICT/ICTa) Education and Training Trust which provides training for the clayware sector.

The event, which was held at Forterra’s new Desford factory, saw Production Manager Ed Storer receive the Keith FR Morton Award, and University Student and Process and Reliability Engineer Nia Lewis receive the Clay Drying and Firing Student Award.

ASFP shortlisted for three Association awards

PR302 TAF awards 002The Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) is delighted to have been shortlisted for three awards in the Trade Association Forum’s (TAF’s) Awards. The Awards recognise, reward and promote best practice among trade associations in the UK.

The Association’s magazine, Ignite, has been shortlisted for Magazine of the Year. Ignite caters to the needs and interests of professionals within the passive fire protection (PFP) industry. It offers a valuable resource that enhances the knowledge and expertise of its audience. The magazine also promotes best practice and addresses challenges in the sector, facilitating the growth and development of the industry.

Hoist & Winch designs bespoke electric winch system for ‘wet room’

gNvW1bYAmong many notable recent successes, Hoist & Winch Ltd has come to the assistance of a large UK plant rental company with a very specific request. The company wanted a bespoke electric-powered winch lifting system to raise and lower large vinyl-type sheets in a purpose-built ‘wet area’. With no challenge too demanding, Hoist & Winch stepped up to the task.

CHAS becomes “Veriforce CHAS”

XDSFKUEFollowing the acquisition of CHAS by Veriforce in January 2023, CHAS has announced its company brand name will become ‘Veriforce CHAS’, reflecting its position as a key part of the Veriforce group.  

The products and services of Veriforce CHAS, including its accreditation offerings and certification, will continue to be known as ‘CHAS’.

New services and expanded footprint for VOLOCO as it eyes £1m turnover

VOLOCOoBpOJcr Construction Consulting which provides bespoke flexible services to the construction industry, such as quantity surveying, commercial support, cost management, design management and bid management, is expanding its footprint and key services ahead of 2024. 

Headquartered near Bristol, VOLOCO is growing its offering in the East of England, with new partner Adrian Green joining the Cambridge office as Commercial Consultant. Green brings over 30 years’ experience of measurement, procurement, contract management and dispute resolution in residential, restoration and pharmaceutical sectors. He has worked at City and Country Group and Larkfleet Homes Ltd, amongst others.
