ECA announces an extensive conference season

Launching this year’s industry conference season, the Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) will be having a major presence at the industry-leading UK Construction Week, being held at the NEC in Birmingham from 18 – 20 October.

The ECA will be exhibiting at the ‘Energy 2016’ arena of UK Construction Week, alongside the Fire and Security Association (FSA). On the opening day of Construction Week, ECA’s Steve Martin will be presenting on new business opportunities for contractors, within the ‘Smart Buildings Hub’.

Cobblers laying the foundations for success - just like their new sponsors

Having achieved Champions status last season, Northampton Town Football Club are certainly ‘laying the foundations’ for another successful campaign, having taken to competition at the higher tier like the proverbial ‘duck to water’, currently occupying a play-off position.

Similar could be said for new club sponsors, Mick George Ltd, who are continuing to gain momentum since moving in to the Northamptonshire region, with its growing number of service offerings, to both domestic and commercial customers.

Housebuilder Tesni scoop award for "thoughtful and considered" design

New homes by environmentally-friendly house builder Tesni, have been recognised for their "thoughtful and considered design" in the annual Oswestry and District Civic Society Awards. 

Tesnihas transformed land formerly occupied by the Oswestry ambulance station on Morda Road, on the outskirts of the town, into six luxury houses – each designed to help power, light and even "breathe" for themselves.

The Civic Society has given a commendation to Tesni’s Glentworth Place development in recognition of the transformation of the former brownfield site into a housing cluster described as contributing to the "smart growth" of the area.

Mick George Ltd 'Stand up to Cancer' in groundbreaking new initiative

Stand Up To Cancer is a groundbreaking initiative created to accelerate innovative cancer research that will get new therapies to patients quickly and save lives.

This Autumn, Channel 4 and Cancer Research UK are leading the rebellion, to overthrow Cancer by any means necessary. Members of the public are being urged to pledge support, indulge in their rebellious side and fundraise however they feel fit, with a whole host of celebrities leading the way.

SoilsCon 2016 praised for wealth of practical knowledge delivered

120 delegates attended ‘SoilsCon 2016 – Soil use and management’ on Wednesday, 5th October, and left the conference armed with a wealth of knowledge and practical tools to apply to their landscape projects. The conference was the second to be organised by soil scientist and landscape consultant Tim O’Hare and focused entirely on soils and their crucial role in delivering successful landscape schemes.
