hlnsc main logo colour textHerefordshire Ludlow and North Shropshire College (HLNSC) were delighted to host the first meeting of the newly formed Construction Sector Green Technologies Advisory Panel on Friday 26th January.

The meeting took place at the new cutting-edge training facility dedicated to renewable technology – the Low Carbon Technology Training Centre (LCTTC). Nestled within the scenic surroundings of HLNSC’s Holme Lacy College, this state-of-the-art centre is set to make a significant impact in advancing the adoption of sustainable energy solutions in our region.

At the meeting, local employers discussed future expansion plans for the centre and explored ways to support new initiatives in delivering a wider range of specialist qualifications. Dr Jon Gill gave a thought-provoking presentation on how different funding streams are crucial to support these initiatives but explained that they often come with tight deadlines and challenging requirements.

The primary mission of the LCTTC is to support local businesses, the construction industry, and homeowners by providing comprehensive training for professionals and enthusiasts alike. HLNSC’s new courses are designed to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to install a wide range of green energy solutions.
In today’s world, the importance of transitioning to cleaner, more sustainable technologies is paramount, and the LCTTC is here to lead the way!

The College seeks to engage with local industry and interested parties to better understand their unique requirements in training and open channels for collaborative support going forward. As the world strives for a greener, more sustainable future, it’s clear that a skilled workforce is a necessity.

The LCTTC is now taking bookings for training in Solar Photovoltaic and Heat Pump installer courses. The centre offers comprehensive theory and practical elements. The courses are designed to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to install a wide range of green energy solutions and are recognised by MCS.
