ASFP is shortlisted for three awards

PR 291 MemCom award shortlistThe Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) is pleased to announce it has been shortlisted in three categories of the Memcom Excellence Awards 2023. The Awards shine a light on organisations that increase value for their profession and contribute to a better society. They aim to highlight successful membership organisations, recognising the creativity and hard work which goes into driving up standards in the membership sector.

ASFPTV, the ASFP’s YouTube channel has been shortlisted for the Best Social Media Presence - Less than 50K award. The channel’s depth, breadth of programming, reach and ability to inform has improved ASFP’s member engagement tenfold and made content much more accessible. ASFPTV offers five series: ASFPTV informs viewers of ASFP activities; ASFP Live brings news from events such as trade shows and seminars; Sparking Interest offers discussion of issues not directly linked to the passive fire sector; Meet the Member provides ASFP members with a platform to reach out to a wider audience with details of their products and services; while Getting Technical investigates technical and regulatory challenges affecting the passive fire sector.

The ASFP’s revised Online Introduction to Passive Fire Protection has been shortlisted for the Best E-learning / Online Education Initiative. The new version of the course, developed in 2022, is broken down into a series of small, easy to digest modules of between 7 and 15 minutes in length, each discussing a specific type of passive fire protection. On successful completion of an assessment at the end of the course, learners are awarded a ‘Certificate of Completion’ and 3 hours of certified CPD points.

The Association’s membership magazine, Ignite, has been nominated in the Best Magazine, Circulation less than 20K category. Launched in November 2021, Ignite keeps members and key stakeholders informed of the issues and challenges of the passive fire sector, keeps members and non-members up-to-date with ASFP activities, while also highlighting member products and services. The magazine is available free in print and online, with all production costs covered by advertising sales.

The Memcom Excellence Award winners will be announced at a dinner at the Hilton Bankside in London on 26th September.
