Boss Cabins, the country’s fastest growing manufacturer of mobile welfare units, is set to transform the market in a pioneering move calculated to dramatically boost the comfort and care of construction workers across the UK.
In what is seen as a first for the industry, Boss now offers its entire range of Cabins in stainless steel, supported by a 25 year corrosion warranty – a radical new development likely to spell the end for cabins constructed in mild steel – a move that will improve standards and conditions on site.
“It is a radical step for Boss in response to customers on site wanting a better quality welfare unit that will more readily resist the robust and understandable treatment it receives in a construction environment, “ said Matt5hew Wordsworth, joint managing director. “We suspect that it will not be long before our competitors try to copy us - then all Welfare Units will be built in stainless steel.”
Boss says they will continue to offer cabins in mild steel or in variants of mild and stainless but fully expect the market to switch as customers see and appreciate the long term benefits and higher standards.
Mobile Welfare Units receive incredibly harsh treatment on building sites and those manufactured in mild steel generally only deliver on average a five to seven year life expectancy as a result of onsite damage, corrosion and wear to the generator.
With a fully stainless steel cabin the life expectancy can be far greater, which is due in part to the fact that in addition to the obvious benefit of stainless steel being non-corrosive it is also 25% stronger than mild steel. This therefore increases the structural strength of the cabin and minimises damage caused by impacts which helps to maintain the appearance of the cabin. A cabin operator could then quite sensibly choose to buy a service exchange generator from Boss Cabins at a significant discount and double if not triple the life of the cabin.
The entire Boss range can be purchased in stainless steel from the smaller six and seven man welfare unit’s right up to the company’s flagship 24 foot cabin. Each comes fitted as standard with an advanced generator which offers 1,000 hours of use between service intervals.
