A leading hirer of secure storage containers and portable site accommodation has successfully achieved a gold level transport award for the fifth consecutive year.
Following an assessment at its London branch, Mobile Mini was awarded the accreditation for its growing fleet of HGV delivery vehicles, in the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS), an initiative operated by Transport for London.

Bull Products, a manufacturer of life-saving fire protection equipment, has recently protected 1,000 construction workers during the development of a £440 million shopping centre, thanks to its renowned Cygnus alarm system.
The Westgate Oxford shopping centre, which was completed in October 2017, comprises of prestigious global brands, restaurants, cafés and a cinema. During the two-year project, Bull Products supplied 400 of its Cygnus alarm systems which were fitted across 125 stores.

Newly formed APPG launches inquiry into workplace falls from height.

The newly formed APPG for Working at Height, chaired by Glasgow Central MP Alison Thewliss and supported by PASMA, launched its first inquiry into the numbers of serious injuries and fatalities which occur as a result of a fall from height.
Over 30 industry stakeholders attended the launch on the 12th December, and along with MPs Kevin Foster and Alison Thewliss, took part in a wide ranging discussion about the key issues and the scope for the inquiry.
The inquiry will be open for evidence submissions from interested stakeholders until February 6th 2018. The APPG will consider evidence and develop a report and recommendations on how the frequency of serious injuries and fatalities can be reduced.

The scheme on the Newmarket Road, Park and Ride site owned by Marshall Group Properties, has been able to progress, courtesy of a £1.85million loan to Cambridge Leisure and Ice Centre (CLIC) from the South Cambridgeshire District Council.

The University of Wolverhampton has scooped an award for its innovative approach to providing courses tailored specifically for business.
The Architecture and Built Environment team won an award in the Quality Initiative category at EDF Energy’s Hinkley Point C (HPC) first Excellence Awards held in Bridgwater, Somerset, recently. EDF Energy is building the first new nuclear power station in the UK.

The A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon improvement scheme recently marked its first anniversary. Great progress has been made to date, along the 21-mile route of this 1.5 billion Highways England scheme.
The A14 Integrated Delivery Team (IDT) which comprises three joint ventures, between Costain-Skanska, Balfour Beatty-Carillion and Atkins-CH2M Design, is working on behalf of Highways England to deliver ‘much more than a road’. The work will ‘relieve congestion, reduce accidents, connect communities and decrease journey times’, with the new road on-course to open by the end of 2020.
