Cygnus offers maximum protection to Battersea Power Station

Bull Products, a manufacturer of life-saving fire protection equipment, has confirmed the largest installation of its Cygnus Wireless Alarm System to date.
Over 460 alarm units have been installed at London’s major landmark, Battersea Power Station, protecting 3,000 workers on site. This is the highest number of units to be installed on one project since the inception of the Cygnus alarm system.

Training success at the 2019 IAPA Awards for Nationwide Platforms

Announced at the IAPA Award ceremony, which was held on 6th March in Dubai, the IPAF Members only award was presented to Nationwide Platforms Training Manager, Charlie Ellis. Charlie was honoured with the IPAF Training Instructor of the Year for his dedication in providing quality training on some of the largest construction projects in 2018; most notably the high-risk Highways England M5 re-development at Oldbury Viaduct where he acted as Lead Senior Instructor.
Having dedicated the last 14 years to providing working at height training at Nationwide Platforms, Charlie has consistently demonstrated outstanding commitment to the IPAF training programme, providing in-depth support and guidance, whilst always striving to maintain the quality and integrity of IPAF courses.

Call for businesses to include health and wellbeing in apprentice training

Corporate health and wellbeing provider Let's Get Healthy is calling on construction businesses to include health and wellbeing when preparing apprentices for work this National Apprenticeships Week.

ASFP announces passive fire protection training dates

The Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) has announced several new Spring and Summer dates for its Foundation Course in Passive Fire Protection. The 7-day classroom-based courses will take place in Leeds, commencing on 21 March; East Midlands and Dublin starting on 9 April and Watford commencing on 11 June.
The courses offer a foundation in fire safety and fire science as well as units on different forms of passive fire protection. Individuals who undertake the training can study towards an examination leading to a Level 3 qualification in Passive Fire Protection provided by the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) awarding organisation, which is regulated by the qualification regulators Ofqual and CCEA.
