Access Platform Sales has supplied the first groundbreaking Hinowa TeleCrawler 13 in the UK to access rental company Elavation.
The Hinowa TeleCrawler 13 is the first tracked spider platform in the world to have all-electric drive.
Access Platform Sales (APS), Hinowa's UK and Ireland authorised distributor, delivered the eco-friendly platform to Elevation's HQ in Wolverton, Milton Keynes.

ASFP supports calls for funding to address tall building fire safety failings

The Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP), the UK’s leading association for the passive fire protection sector, is supporting calls for greater funding to address identified fire safety failings in tall buildings. The move comes following the Government’s announcement of its five point plan to address unsafe cladding issues and the defeat in Parliament of an amendment to the Fire Safety Bill, which sought to prevent fire safety and cladding remediation costs falling on leaseholders.
While welcoming the announcement of additional funding for cladding remediation on tall buildings, the Association believes the scheme does not go far enough since it offers no assistance to pay for other identified fire safety failures, such as problems with fire doors and other compartmentation measures.

UCLan's first building services degree apprentices complete training

The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is marking National Apprenticeship Week (8-14 February) by seeing its first cohort of building services design engineer degree apprentices complete their training.
The six learners’ primary role is to work with other construction professionals to design, install and maintain the mechanical and electrical installations found in buildings. They are now officially Incorporated Engineers having successfully completed their end point assessment with the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), supported in their endeavour by staff at UCLan and their employers.
