Ecocem to provide ultra-low carbon cement for two major Paris projects

Europe’s leading provider of low carbon solutions for the cement and construction industries, Ecocem, is set to provide its new ultra-low carbon cement to two major Paris projects – the Athletes’ Village for summer 2024 and the Grand Paris Express

The technology – Ecocem Ultra – is an alternative to traditional cement and will significantly reduce the CO2 footprint of both projects.

Commercial property director Trish Barton is World Duathlon Champion

Construction law specialists Barton Legal are delighted to announce that their co-founder Trish Barton has become the World Duathlon Champion in her age group.

The Championships – which saw thousands of athletes from all over the world compete – took place in Aviles, Spain and featured a gruelling 5km run, followed by a 20km bike ride, finishing with a 2.5km run. Trish posted a time of 1 hour and 16 minutes, putting her two minutes ahead of her nearest competitor.

The importance of getting acoustic design right from the beginning

ASFP makes two further significant appointments

The Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) has made two new appointments to support the continued development of its member, training and technical services. Rich Green was appointed as Commercial Projects Manager in July and Chris Sharman joined as Training Manager in September.  

Rich brings a wealth of experience working in leadership and commercial roles in a variety of industries, including ten years in the lighting industry. As Commercial Manager of the Lighting Industry Association (LIA) he achieved revenue growth of over 40% and was a key part of the team that established a brand new UKAS-accredited testing laboratory. Previous roles included Business Manager for lighting company, Kosnic and National Accounts Manager for pest control company, Pelsis.

Michelmersh nominated for 19 shortlisted projects for the BDA’s Brick Awards 2021

During August, shortlists for the highly commended and prestigious Brick Development Association’s (BDA) Brick Awards 2021 were announced.
