Humber Port projects shortlisted at British Construction Industry Awards

Two major projects at ports in the Humber region have been shortlisted at the 30th British Construction Industry Awards 2017.

Green Port Hull and Immingham Renewable Fuel Terminal have both been shortlisted in the Major Civil Engineering Project of the Year (over £50m) category at the British Construction Industry Awards, which recognises and rewards excellence in project delivery, design, construction and delivering outcomes for society.

Talent search comes up trumps

Earlier this year, Mick George Ltd took the lead in a unique talent search, encouraging local entrepreneurs with what they believed to be‘excellent business propositions’, to come forward for assistance. 

The business claimed that they would provide the appropriate resources required to expose the full potential of said ideas’, if they felt that the concept justified.

As anticipated, the company was inundated with individuals looking to kick-start a venture, as well as more established SME’s trying to evolve. Having sifted through endless applications and proposals, a panel of representatives coherently concluded the first ‘diamond’ in the pack worth pursuing.

Grenfell Tower Fire: Statement from the Fire Sector Federation

The Fire Sector Federation (FSF) wishes to send its condolences to all those affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy. We also wish to praise the fire service for its prompt and professional response.

Although a fire on such a scale is unprecedented in the UK, there have been a number of similar incidents both here and around the world. The FSF has long expressed major concerns about the apparent disjoint in the processes which aim to ensure fire safety within the built environment, as well as concerns about the combustibility of certain modern building materials.

Mick George Ltd 'Image of the Industry'

One year on since claiming their first accolade at the annual Tip-Ex awards night, it’s clear to see that Mick George Ltd haven’t let standards slip, as the company was triumphant once again.

The ceremony, which was hosted at a gala dinner, from the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate on Friday 2nd June, saw the biggest players in the UK Haulier industry congregate in a bid to be rewarded for their efforts.
