Kier Stoke is furthering its commitment to staff and enhancing customer service through a new training initiative.
The innovative scheme will train craft technicians to become multi-skilled, enabling additional repairs on residents' homes to be completed more efficiently.
As well as holding full professional qualifications in their specialist trade, craft technicians will now also be offered basic training in other areas, enabling them to complete additional repairs as required. For example, if an electrician goes to a property to complete a job and the tenant mentions there’s a dripping tap, the electrician will be trained to replace the washer or tighten the tap in place of a specialist plumber.
The new scheme will provide in-house training at Kier Stoke’s Cromer Road site to all craft technicians, extending their basic repair skills in areas such as bricklaying, plastering, plumbing and joinery.
As well as delivering service improvements to local residents, additional training is proven to increase staff productivity and reduce employee turnover, creating a more engaged and satisfied workforce.
