The Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP), the UK’s leading trade association for passive fire protection, will be exhibiting on stand H63 at London Build in London’s Olympia on 15-16 November.
Our team will be showcasing the ASFP’s range of technical guidance documents, member services and passive fire protection (PFP) training courses. Our courses include classroom training and our revolutionary e-learning platform. We will provide full details of our Foundation courses, which are available as classroom or online training, and enable learners to study towards the Institution of Fire Engineers Level 2 and Level 3 Certificates in PFP. We will also highlight our new ASFP Firestopping for Installers course, which equips learners with the essential knowledge and skills to install different types of firestopping products.

The Ground Source Heat Pump Association (GSHPA) is pleased to announce the election of Emma Bohan as its new Vice Chair. Emma, the Managing Director, General Manager and major shareholder of IMS Heat Pumps Limited, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role.
Emma has had an interest in the heat pump industry since assisting with the start-up of a heat pump company in 2002 that sold out to a manufacturer in 2008. She has been working in the design, supply, install of heat pumps full-time since 2016.

BSIF tests unveil vast quantities of non-compliant safety footwear on UK market

British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) testing has revealed that a significant amount of safety footwear produced by non-members fails to perform as advertised.
Safety footwear is used to protect against hazards including slips, sharp objects, heavy loads, extreme temperatures, and chemicals. It is therefore an essential part of PPE and it is vital that it meets expectations.

Official stamp of approval for new community in Wigan

Richard Bacon, MP, a leading exponent of community housebuilding, has helped launch a plan to shape a Wigan church into affordable homes.
Award-winning charity Housing People, Building Communities (HPBC) was granted planning permission to develop the vacant St William’s church and presbytery and adjacent land in Ince into homes. The development, working in collaboration with Prima Housing Group work, has now started.
