Innov8 secures Cheshire East Council framework agreement

Merseyside construction industry firm Innov8 is primed to deliver Principal Design Services for Cheshire East Council after securing the green light from authority chiefs.
The Birkenhead health and safety firm, which also has offices in Manchester, London and Edinburgh, has been appointed to the council’s framework for property-related consultancy services.
Innov8 Safety Solutions managing director Alan Robson said the agreement could lead to high-profile work secured under the council framework.
“It was a highly competitive tendering process,” he said. “But we were delighted to be chosen ahead of four other bidders for the role of Principal Design Services. Innov8 has wide-ranging experience of co-ordinating with many stakeholders on complex projects. We deliver an independent, proactive service and pride ourselves on identifying potential risks early on in order to plan safe, practical, realistic and cost-effective construction solutions. We have experienced rapid growth in the last 18 months and plan to continue targeting big contracts in the commercial, retail, engineering, education and health sectors.”
The Cheshire East framework agreement is the first of its kind Innov8 has secured since the overhaul of Construction Design Management (CDM) regulations by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) earlier this year.
Mr Robson said Innov8, acquired by Lucion Environmental Ltd in April 2015, has adapted quickly to the new regulations – in part because it already delivered many of the desired practices as standard. He said the firm continues to offer a straightforward approach to CDM to ensure health and safety compliance.
“We’re here to work with and challenge design teams in order to guarantee the safety of employees and the public,” he said. “But we’re also here to help ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and on budget. We ensure our clients are fully CDM compliant, by documenting evidence and producing records, in turn reducing paperwork and administration.
“Innov8 has more than 10 years of CDM expertise and offers two services under the CDM umbrella - either acting as an advisor to a principal designer or as a client’s CDM advisor. We have also set up a CDM education centre on our website to help inform the industry about the implications of the new regulations.”
