Roman’s retail showpiece a success at KBB Exhibition

Market leading International shower designer and manufacturer, Roman has reported that this year’s KBB Birmingham Exhibition was a great success. KBB was Roman’s shop window for the retail sector and their platform to energise and engage their retailers with the innovations that they have worked so hard to bring to market.

Boss Cabins set to boost standards for construction workers

NASC 2016 Safety Report to be launched at Health & Safety show

The NASC is set to launch its 2016 Safety Report at the forthcoming ‘The Health & Safety Event’ industry event being held at the NEC, March 22-24.

The highly-regarded annual NASC Safety Report documents and analyses accident and injury statistics for all 199 NASC full contracting member companies in 2015 – covering 14,954 scaffolding operatives, which constitutes a major proportion of the UK’s total scaffolding workforce.

2016 UK Roofing Awards – finalists revealed

After receiving almost 300 entries this year, we are delighted to announce the finalists for the UK Roofing Awards in 2016. The competition ran from September until the end of January when a panel of technical experts from supporting trade associations whittled the entries down to just 56 projects across 14 categories. The winners are then chosen by a small panel of construction professionals.

Reading Station: The Power of Partnership

The recent multi-million pound refurbishment of Reading station saw Latchways systems chosen by work-at-height registered installers Eurosafe Solutions. The companies worked together to provide fall protection systems and walkways for use during the construction process and for future maintenance; one of numerous projects the two safety leaders have collaborated on since Eurosafe was formed in 2000.

NASC & CISRS set to exhibit at The Health & Safety Event, NEC, March 22-24

The NASC and CISRS will be exhibiting at ‘The Health & Safety Event’ being held next month at the NEC in Birmingham from March 22nd-24th, on trade stand C66, right opposite the main conference theatre.

Under Secretary of State for Transport unveils Hope's 48 new rail wagons

Hope Construction Materials, the UK’s leading independent supplier of construction materials, has unveiled 48 state-of-the-art rail wagons, developed in partnership with VTG Rail UK.

The vehicles were officially launched at an event at the iconic Hope Works cement plant in Hope Valley, Derbyshire, with the ribbon cut by Under Secretary of State for Transport Andrew Jones MP.

Contractors experience rising labour costs as outlook remains positive

The first Build UK State of Trade survey has revealed a positive but stabilising picture of the prospects for Contractors. Whilst the level of enquiries remained relatively flat and output rose only slightly in the last quarter of 2015, the outlook for the industry is still comfortably above that of a year ago.

CISRS approves new training centre in the north east: AIS

CISRS has just granted training provider accreditation to a prestigious industry training centre in the North East – AIS Training in North Shields, part of the Advanced Industrial Solutions group.

The state-of-the-art training village, conveniently located off the A19, in Tyne & Wear and offering 200,000 square foot of first rate training facilities, an on-site hotel and restaurant, is accredited for Part 1 Tube & Fitting Scaffolding and CISRS Operative Training Scheme (COTS) courses, with Basic Scaffold Inspection Training to follow soon.
