INFRARAIL TO INCLUDE NEW MACHINERY DISPLAY

trainA new exhibition area dedicated to plant and machinery for rail construction and maintenance is to be unveiled at Infrarail 2012. The event, at the NEC in Birmingham from 1 to 3 May 2012, will feature companies supplying track construction and maintenance, signalling and communications, electrification and railway civil engineering.

It’s battle stations at WorldSkills 2011

WorldSkills2011WorldSkills London 2011 attracted more than 200,000 young people over four days, who watched competitors using professional hand tools and power tool accessories provided by Irwin Tools, one of the main sponsors.

The DIY artists - Peckham collective LuckyPDF

diy peckhamLuckyPDF are four Peckham-based 25-year-olds who are as much curators or TV producers as they are artists. They set up live events, commission performance and video artists, and put the lot together in a format like a surreal TV programme, complete with presenters, graphic interludes and VT packages. Crucially, these events are also disseminated online via their own website and the creative video sharing network Vimeo, and are loudly trumpeted on Twitter and Facebook.

Morgan Sindall event aims to build on regional expertise

morgan sindallFIRMS in the North East’s construction industry are being offered guidance on how they can secure more public sector work with one of the UK’s leading contractors. London-based construction and infrastructure company Morgan Sindall, which employs around 100 staff at offices in Belmont Business Park, Durham, is hosting a “meet the buyer” event on October 4 in partnership with industry body Constructing Excellence.
