Construction industry urged to attend Hire Convention 2015

As the Hire Association Europe (HAE) prepares for its annual Hire Convention at Holywell Park, Loughborough, from 22nd -23rd September, they are keen to encourage businesses from the construction industry to attend.

With ‘Navigating the Future’ as the theme, an action packed programme of thought provoking content, a whole host of networking opportunities and more than 40 exhibitors showcasing the latest tools, plant equipment, technology, work wear and business services, the two day convention promises to deliver everything a thriving construction company needs to prepare itself for the future.

The content includes a mixture of keynote sessions, seminars and workshops with a strong focus on the construction industry and sustainable working practises. These include:

  • Working at Height: Best Practice, Trends & Developments
Don Aers, Access Industrial Forum (AIF)
  • HSE, Construction and the Hire Industry
Chris Lucas, HM Inspector of Health & Safety Construction Division HSE
  • Google: Future Trends
Sanaz Ameri, Strategic Partnership Manager, Google
  • Creating a Sustainable Workforce
James Sutton of Raleigh International, the sustainable development charity
  • Sustainable Construction - What the Future Looks Like
Jacqui Glass, Professor of Architecture and Sustainable Construction

In addition, as part of the HAE’s ongoing Future Hirer initiative they will be running their first ever Future Hirer's Workshop. Backed by the CITB, it aims to encourage 18-30 year olds looking for work or a change of career to consider the hire sector. Craig Phillips, DIY Expert and TV Celebrity will be delivering a keynote session and hosting career workshops throughout Day Two.

“The Hire Convention is definitely pertinent to the construction industry with the majority of our exhibitors being of interest to them. Many of the topics covered in the conference programme are especially relevant to the sector. As well as Jacqui Glass’ and the HSE’s sessions we are also hosting a meeting for the Home Builders Federation. In the current climate sustainability is key to the success of all businesses and it is certainly high on the convention’s agenda.  Attracting young talent is integral to it, so both the Future Hirers initiative and Raleigh International’s session on creating a sustainable workforce will be of interest.  We also have sessions from Google, HSE, DVSA and the Access Industrial Forum,” comments Graham Arundell, the HAE’s managing director.

Delegate places at the Hire Convention are limited to 300 so attendees are being urged to register in advance, the link is www.hireconvention.org.uk/?page_id=52
