Awards to celebrate construction excellence

Awards which celebrate innovation in the construction and built environment sector have been launched in Yorkshire and Humber.

The 2015 Constructing Excellence Yorkshire & Humber (CEYH) awards, organised by the Centre for Knowledge Exchange at Leeds Beckett University, showcase the most innovative organisations, developments& initiatives in construction and the built environment over the past 12 months.

The awards are open to organisations, companies and project teams involved in delivering “excellence in construction” across 13 different categories, each one representing the core themes underpinning the Constructing Excellence movement & improvement agenda.

Don Ward, CEO of Constructing Excellence added: “These Awards recognise those who have set the highest standards of best practice and collaboration in the industry. As market prospects are improving, with most sectors on the up, we can expect to see excellence return to the fore in clients’ minds. It is therefore important that the best people, teams and companies who are leading this trend are recognised for their achievements”

The winners of each category will be revealed at a gala dinner held at the National Railway Museum in York in July.  The winners then go on to compete at the National Construction Excellence Awards held in London in the autumn. Last year the Yorkshire and Humber region was victorious in both the Innovation (Yorkshire Water) and Client of the Year (East Riding County Council) categories at the national awards.

Over the last seven years the CEYH Awards have grown to be one of the highlights of the regional construction calendar with over 350 professionals, representing a broad cross section of the construction industry, coming together to celebrate the very best that the built environment sector has to offer.

Don added: “I am delighted that Yorkshire & Humber is part of a unique nationwide series of eight such pan-industry events which identifies the best regional performers and brings the winners to London for the national final in November. We look forward to seeing the very best that the region has to offer.”

The closing date for submissions for this year’s awards is Friday 15 May.  For full details about the awards categories please click here
