The third UK Concrete Show achieved record-breaking numbers of attendees, exhibitors and an increase in show area of almost 50% according to organisers', Marwood Events.
The 2013 show attendance of 4732 was up by 33% from 2012 following the move to the NEC from the Ricoh Arena and for the first time the show featured an extensive outside equipment display area alongside the 8000m2 of indoor space.
“We are delighted to have brought building and construction back to the NEC” said Marwood Events show director Steven Callaghan, “and with our new roofing event, Roofex, (NEC, May 1 & 2, 2013) now very close to selling out and over a third of UK Concrete Show exhibitors booking for 2014 onsite, we believe that our vertical events, with their concentration on high quality visitors, have a great future”.
Marwood used an interactive smartphone app and online desktop organiser for the first time, which was a big hit with visitors and exhibitors alike according to Callaghan.
“Being able to network with other visitors before even arriving at the show most people found fascinating, and they were blown away by the interactive floor plan that guided them around the hall. Even those that couldn’t get to the show in person could participate in the event as we have almost 11,000 subscribers to the app from across 6 continents with 150,000 hits”.
