Vinci wins major incinerator contracts

twonewincineratorcontractswonbyvinci 2263 800777569 0 0 6235 300Vinci Environment UK has been selected to design and build two incinerators in Hertfordshire and North Yorkshire. The projects are worth £330 million and could require the use of contracting software and construction software.

Vinci was appointed by Veolia Environmental Services for one of the projects, which is part of the latter company's wider strategy to divert household waste away from landfill.

The waste treatment facility in Hatfield is expected to enable ten per cent of waste to be recycled, while the rest will be incinerated to produce enough electricity to power 50,000 homes.

Vinci will also work on an AmeyCespa multi-stream waste recovery park that will service North Yorkshire.

It is expected that this development will help cut the amount of household waste going to landfill in the region by 90 per cent.

Recently, recycling and resource management firm SITA was given permission by central government to push ahead with its Severnside Energy Recovery Centre - despite permission being refused by the local council.

Businesses working in the construction sector could find Sage Estimating, cost planning and post contract software of use throughout every phase of a development.
