Three winners on £300m Scottish affordable homes framework
Half of Scotland’s councils are participating in Phase 2 of the National Housing Trust Initiative, which was extended in 2011 due to “massive demand”.
The winners so far are Stewart Milne, which will take on two lots covering Aberdeen and Fife, Hadden, which has won the Clackmannanshire Council lot, and James Keiller, which will build homes for Dundee City Council.
Around 600 homes for affordable rent are expected to be delivered through Phase 2.
Each developer will deliver property management and maintenance services on their own completed houses for five to 10 years, before the units are sold.
11 lots remain, with 15 of Scotland’s 32 local authorities taking part.
The remaining lots are:
Lot 2: Edinburgh
Lot 4: Dumfries and Galloway
Lot 6: East Lothian
Lot 7: East Renfrewshire
Lot 8: Falkirk
Lot 10: Highlands
Lot 11: Midlothian
Lot 12: The Moray
Lot 13: Renfrewshire
Lot 14: Scottish Borders
Lot 15: Stirling
