Combisafe takes safety to new levels at Lebanon's highest tower
In the heart of Lebanon's capital city, the 195 metre high Sama Beirut Tower is set to become the country’s tallest building in 2014. Whilst signalling Lebanon’s return to landmark architectural developments, the construction project has also seen COMBISAFE continue its expansion into the Middle Eastern market with the supply and installation of 54 Safety Net Fans.
Designed by the Erga Group, the 50 storey tower will create residential, commercial and office space including six retail units, seven floors of offices and 66 apartments starting at 295m² in size. Following the successful installation of Safety Net Fans at Beirut’s Sky Gate Tower – the city’s second tallest building – COMBISAFE’s proven and reliable fall safety protection was once again chosen to deliver optimum standards of health and safety performance.
Offering a projection of 3.3 metres, the Safety Net Fan has been tested to comply with EN1263 and will absorb falls from up to 6 metres. With a mesh density of 60 x 60mm – laced together with an extra fine 20 x 20mm debris net as standard – helping to catch and contain considerably smaller particles, this gives the contractor and workers on site complete peace of mind.
Expected to be fully operational in 2014, the Sama Beirut Tower is a milestone project for the region – set to pave the way for many new high-rise developments and an example of the continued growth of COMBISAFE safety solutions across the Middle East.
