Centurion unveils world’s first safety helmet with Mips cradle solution

Working in partnership with Swedish helmet safety technology company, Mips, Centurion Safety Products has unveiled the next generation of above the neck safety technology: its cutting-edge Nexus Extreme Mips helmet. 

The ground-breaking helmet is the first in the world to incorporate the Mips Elevate (cradle solution) Multi-directional Impact Protection System into an industrial hard hat that incorporates a cradle and is designed to provide increased protection against rotational motion.

Close Brothers Asset Finance funds new ‘yellow plant’ for PDM Industries

Close Brothers Asset Finance has provided PDM Industries with a Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS) Sale and HP-back facility for the purchase of a mix of yellow plant, ranging from excavators to sweepers. The funding will also be used to protect the firm’s cashflow, giving them the headroom to continue to invest and secure their future. 

Based in Preston, PDM Industries is a well-established business that has been trading since 1991 in specialist markets, including demolition, groundworks, civils, waste recycling, plant hire and agricultural contracting.

Constructionarium's net zero agenda continues

Constructionarium, a not-for-profit organisation which traditionally provides experiential learning to students studying built environment courses, took the opportunity at the start of the pandemic to launch its NetZero activities. This was through the launch of its Lexicon, published on its website www.constructionarium.uk – listing a collection of activities that are being undertaken by organisations throughout the UK, alongside developing and delivering bespoke corporate webinars. The webinars are delivered as corporate programmes for executives and senior leaders across contracting and consulting organisations and are focused on upskilling delegates on the complex subject of climate change. They can be delivered as a one-off session or linked to corporate strategy and policy as a programme of activities.

Yorkshire brickmaker’s award highlights fight against slavery

0n7989A leading Yorkshire brickmaker has been honoured for its high ethical standards - as the brick industry fights back against the widespread use of child labour and slavery in South East Asia.

The Easingwold-based York Handmade Brick Company, the largest independent brickmaker in the north of England, has been awarded the brand-new Brickmakers Quality Charter to underline its moral standards and green credentials.

The award comes from the Brick Development Association, the trade association for the UK’s brick industry.
