RISE is accepting applications for the CSRP™ exam

Roof Integrated Solar Energy™ (RISE™) Inc. is accepting applications for its next Certified Solar Roofing Professional™ (CSRP) exam, which will be held Feb. 7, 2013. Applications must be received by the CSRP program office by close of business Jan. 7, 2013.

The CSRP designation is a voluntary certification for professionals who plan and oversee installation of roof-mounted photovoltaic (PV) systems. The credential evaluates whether candidates have the underlying knowledge required to successfully install a roof-mounted PV system. It certifies individuals for all building types—commercial and residential.

Additionally, NRCA University and Penn State, University Park, Pa., have developed Rooftop Photovoltaic System Installations, a comprehensive study tool for the CSRP exam. The online study course offers topics and resources relevant to roof-mounted PV systems and features information regarding safety; design, electrical principles and practices; estimating; contracting and selling a system; and managing and directing installation.

Rooftop Photovoltaic System Installations is $295 for NRCA members and nonmembers.

RISE evaluates and certifies solar energy installers for knowledge regarding PV roof construction and maintenance practices. RISE also provides the public with tools to identify skilled rooftop solar energy professionals.
