£2k cash prize helps Chester-based joiner beat the February blues

Spartan Joinery, a construction firm based in Deeside near Chester, is celebrating today after receiving a call from Bibby Financial Services to inform them they have won a £2,000 cash prize as part of the specialist invoice financier’s construction finance competition.

Daniel Lewis, who set up Spartan Joinery with his partner, Lee Blundell, in the summer of 2010, says: “I was over the moon when I received the call to tell me we’d won the competition, it’s the best news we could have at a time of the year when everyone’s feeling a bit down, so we’re all very excited. As a growing business, the money will allow us to buy new tools for more specialist jobs which will improve our efficiency as a joinery.”

Spartan Joinery entered Bibby Financial Services’ construction finance competition with the hope of securing additional funding to help grow the business and achieve the goal of becoming firmly established within the industry by 2012. Danny adds: “We recently secured a large contract which is great for us and we hope this money will help us continue to grow throughout 2011, building on the successes we’ve had to date.”

The competition was run by Bibby Financial Services to support businesses like Spartan Joinery and underline its commitment to supporting the UK construction industry. Bibby Financial Services is the only invoice financier with a team devoted to providing specialist support to the construction industry and currently advance upwards of £30 million every year to a variety of medium and large contractors.

Jason Heath, construction specialist at Bibby Financial Services, says: “Spartan Joinery is certainly a worthy winner of this money which will help them in achieving the company’s business goals.  We know the difficulties facing construction firms up and down the country, and wanted to do something further to add to the support we already offer the industry. We hope this funding will support Spartan Joinery in building solid foundations in 2011.”

Bibby Financial Services offers a unique construction finance package which is specifically designed to meet the business needs of the industry, supplying funding often on a confidential basis against a firm’s outstanding billing and/or uncertified applications for payment completed under most forms of industry contract. The service also provides access to a team of specialist credit controllers who are dedicated to managing and collecting outstanding contract debts, saving firms valuable management time so they can focus on growing their firm.
