Southern Home Ownership completes flagship development

Southern Home Ownership, the non-charitable arm of Southern Housing Group, has completed its flagship development in Brighton, The Edge.

The stunning £9.5 million, 12,600 sq. ft., residential development comprises one, two and three-bedroom Shared Ownership apartments and a community centre.

Designed by Brighton based architects Miller Bourne, The Edge sets the benchmark for all future Southern Home Ownership developments. In addition to creatively designed communal areas, each apartment includes a high-quality kitchen, contemporary bathrooms and private balconies, terraces or gardens.

Sustainability was key to The Edge’s design, which meets Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4. Dennes were responsible for the build, and chosen because of its reputation in delivering robust, energy efficient homes that are built to last.

Sandy Macmillan, Head of Sales and Marketing,,said: “Southern Home Ownership is extremely proud to be the sole proprietor of The Edge, our flagship scheme which embraces high quality build, contemporary design and energy efficiency.

“As property prices reach an all time high, it is imperative that there are affordable housing options for Britons to break into the property market. We will be reinvesting the profits from The Edge back into Southern Home Ownership to ensure there continues to be cost-effective homes that allow long-term renters to put down permanent roots.”

The Edge sparked mass interest locally long before it was launched, with over 500 people registering interest in viewing the development. It comprises 55 shared ownership homes and 40 affordable rented homes.
