Yuill Homes' site manager wins top industry award

A Yuill Homes’ site manager has been recognised for his exceptional site management skills, after winning the National House Building Council’s Pride in the Job Quality Award (NHBC) for the fourth successive year.

Steve Cook, 41, from Wolviston Village, has once again proven that he is amongst the best in the business by winning another NHBC Quality Award which aims to find Britain’s best run building sites.

Winning the award for overseeing construction work at Yuill Homes’ College Gardens development in Billingham, follows Steve’s illustrious success in last year’s competition after being named the Supreme Winner in the Medium Builder category.

Steve, who has worked at Yuill Homes for ten years, said: “I’m really proud to receive this award for the fourth year running. To be acknowledged in this way is a great achievement and is a fantastic reflection of the excellent work which has been put in by the whole team.

“To be named the best site manager in the country last year within the NHBC’s medium builder category was an amazing feeling and this award continues to recognise the high standards of quality that I strive to achieve on every project.”

Steve has worked in housebuilding for 26 years and won his first Pride in the Job in 2010, then again in 2011 and 2012. Last year, he also won his first Seal of Excellence award as well as being named a Regional Award winner.

Steve will now go forward into the next stage of the competition where he’ll be in with a chance of clinching the coveted Seal of Excellence award and North East regional title.

David Mullins, managing director at Yuill Homes, said: “I’m absolutely delighted that Steve has once again been recognised for the exceptional work that he and his team have delivered at College Gardens.

“For Steve to have won this well respected award now for a number of successive years is a truly great achievement. It also indicates the consistent levels of our offering as a business for continuing to build quality homes that are delivered to the highest standards of craftsmanship for the benefit of our customers. We wish Steve luck in the next stage of the competition.”
