Occupation: The UK's Professional Body for Those Working in Acoustics, Noise and Vibration
The Institute of Acoustics is the UK’s professional body for those working in the acoustics, noise and vibration sectors.
Formed in 1974, it has more than 3,000 members, ranging from university students to qualified professionals working in a diverse range of organisations.
Its many benefits include:

The Institute organises a range of professionally recognised courses at accredited centres across the country. These comprise:
- a diploma in acoustics and noise control (also available through tutored distance learning)
- short certificate courses in building acoustics measurements, environmental noise measurement, management of occupational
- exposure to hand-arm vibration and workplace noise risk assessment.
