The proposed amendments to the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations CDM2015 are set to come into force in April bringing additional costs to builders and with a knock on effect to property owners.
From April, it will be compulsory for designers and builders working on domestic premises, to develop a Construction Phase Plan (CPP) for all building work being carried out. This will apply to everything from a contractor who is tiling a bathroom, to having a major extension built.
THSP Risk Management, a leading CDM-C consultancy, will be running a series of CDM2015 seminars across the country in the run up to the proposed amendments to assist designers and contractors in understanding their responsibilities.
During the seminars THSP will outline the changes, and in view of the removal of the CDM Coordinator role and the introduction of the new Principal Designer role, will examine the responsibility for the co-ordination of the construction health and safety information during the pre-construction phase. They will also explore the expansion of the regulations to include domestic projects.
Seminars are taking place throughout March across the UK. If you would like to attend please visit www.thsp.co.uk/events or contact THSP on 08456 122 144.
