BooBoo Plant Hire goes solar

BooBoo Plant Hire are a Hertfordshire based plant hire firm with strong links to the demolition and construction markets in and around London.

With these markets growing propensity to seek out emission free construction site machinery, particularly in the Greater London area, BooBoo took the decision to increase their fleet of solar powered equipment.

One of their initial investments in low emission products is with the EasyCabin 16’ and 20’ Ecosmart Solar welfare units. The Ecosmart Solar is an advanced site welfare unit featuring hybrid technology that delivers sustainable energy to power the electrics and automatically operates to harvest the sun’s power when available.  It is fitted with a unique, patent pending, solar box, with ‘on-demand’ power usage combined with a further patent pending ECO water system, which means that hot water is always available without the need start up the generator.

Terry Guilder, director of BooBoo Plant Hire explained their decision, “We have started to add the solar powered units to our fleet as we believe that with the increasing focus on emissions, particularly in London, these will be in big demand.”

“We are now almost exclusively an EasyCabin supplier, as we find that they are the most reliable, cost efficient and just as importantly, the back-up and support is exceptional,” added Terry.

BooBoo Plant Hire is based in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire. The company boasts a brand new fleet of plant consisting of 13 – 40 ton excavators, small and mini diggers and dust suppression systems suitable for both the small and larger jobs. BooBoo, also provide a wide range of demolition attachments and access to additional plant and machinery. The company operates all around the country, but principally in the south.

BooBoo Plant Hire is confident that solar is the way forward. In addition to these welfare units, the company has just started to add solar powered lighting towers to their fleet.

When Terry was asked if other manufacturers should be looking to use solar energy to power their machinery, he replied was a confident, “Yes most definitely.”

EasyCabin is the brand name for static and mobile welfare accommodation units manufactured by AJC Trailers Limited. The company has been producing a range of environmentally sustainable units since 1964 and presently operates from a modern 32,000 sq. ft. plant, based in Luton, Bedfordshire.
