Beaulieu farm demolition contract awarded to Mick George Ltd

The vibrant new ‘Beaulieu’ district that is being created on the north-eastern edge of Chelmsford, is making significant progress, and having recently completed phase one of the ‘Beaulieu Park’ region of the project, attention has swiftly turned to another of the progressing neighbourhoods under development.

East Anglia based Construction Company, Mick George Ltd has been contracted to complete Demolition works predominantly focused on the removal of Cottages, Barns, Stables and Farmhouses, that made up a now redundant compound, which will permit continued works on the remaining ‘estates’ that complete the project.

When finished, this £1billion venture from Countryside Zest (Beaulieu Park) LLP, is scheduled to locate 3,600 new homes, along with an extensive range of community facilities, including primary schools, a railway station, commercial units and open park amenities.

Set over 580 acres of farmland, the development will comprise a series of residential ‘areas’ each with their own distinct character, cleverly linking the extensive 176 acres of open space, with the surrounding countryside.

Conveniently situated within the London commuter belt, and within easy reach of Chelmsford’s many attractions, the development is already proving highly desirable, despite it being a decade away from completion in its entirety.

The 615 homes that complete the ‘Beaulieu Park’ scheme are already fully occupied, owing largely to their high-specification and period-style design that demanded an asking price surpassing the £900,000 mark.

And it’s not just the self-contained, residential sections that are being sought after either.

The commercial premises located on the ‘Square, Exchange and Central’ zones of the development, are also receiving positive attention. 62,000m2 of commercial space that includes a hotel, as well as a 40,000m2 business park, will be present.

Michael George, Contracts Director at Mick George Ltd. Commented: ‘’Our relationship with Countryside Properties is a positive one. They are particularly well connected in this area of the country, and we are grateful for the opportunity to work in partnership with them on yet another large project.’’

George Continued: ‘’More and more Contractors that we have a longstanding relationship with, are appreciating our extended reach and are utilising our services throughout the country.’’
